Recorded 19th December 2011 at Loughborough’s Conversation Analysis Day. The theme for that years meeting was “Asymmetries in Interaction”. Søren describes how doctors turn to their desktop computers during consultations. He investigates the integration of technology during general practice visits, explaining two asymmetric levels of access: doctors employ available bodily resources to accomplish stepwise transitions, and whether doctors ought to use technology in the first place instead of the always focusing patient.
